Training:
***Training has been moved to Tuesdays and Thursdays***
Tuesdays will be the main technical session lead by Nick and Thursdays will be more fitness based with a pregame run through. The last Tuesday of every month will be dedicated to the forwards working on the scum machine. If you are part of this elite group of rugby players please make your best effort to attend. Backs will work on our dance moves during these sessions.

Coaches Corner:
I'm already looking forward to what should be another exciting and challenging season for the Club and would like all playing members to consider the following in the interim. By the time the new season begins, I want to see:
  • More Players. I would like to see the Club regularly fielding three teams next season, providing greater strength in depth and more competition for places. Please continue to identify new players and bring them down to the Club over the Summer.
  • Better Players. I will be reviewing 'player profiles' with members of the 1st XV squad in July and plan to 'raise the bar' in terms of individual core skills and unit work in the run-up to the new season.
  • Fitter Players. I need your support in using the off-season to increase your personal fitness levels and to improve your conditioning. Training once a week will not accomplish what we need to achieve; you need to be training away from the Club as well. Please contact me if you need any advice or support.

I will be updating Coach's Corner on a monthly basis in parallel with the update to the 'monthly focus' so please visit regularly.
All the best... Coach.

January Update:
With more than half of our games completed there can be no avoiding the fact that the League season to date hasn't gone entirely to plan but at a time when it is customary to look ahead to the New Year for a 'fresh start' it's crucial that we all look forward to the very winnable games that January offers. Focusing on the teams just above us in the League and 'picking them off' one by one will ensure that we end the month in a more comfortable position than we start it.

Here's to a hugely successful and very happy New Year…

Please read the RFU's Code of Rugby
The Code of Rugby which has been provided by the Rugby Football Union is a set of core values that all rugby players, coaches, referees, administrators, parents and spectators are expected to follow. These values are what makes rugby so special and all members of Old Isleworthians Rugby Club hold particularly close to their hearts. As it is these values that make us such a friendly, open and inclusive rugby club.
